Overview

This module provides a solution for integrating Redis as a caching mechanism into your PrestaShop store.

What this product does for you

Navigation Speed up your website

Some people say about Redis that it's a "Memcached on steroids" because it has more features than Memcached and it's more powerful and flexible.

  • Using the memory for caching is faster than standard caching solutions, like file system or SQL based databases.
  • Similar to Memcached, Redis is using key-value data stores, although Redis is more accurately described as a data store structure.
  • Redis is NoSQL and it keeps all data in RAM.

Features

  • tcp connection to Redis server
  • php sessions in Redis
  • standard and persistent connection
  • prefixed databases

Support and updates

You automatically get 3 months of support for this product.

For 90 days after your purchase, you can enjoy technical and feature support, as well as access to updates available for this product.

Recommendation

php-redis - the module uses the redis php extension which is available for both php5 and php7. Be sure that the extension is installed and enabled.

redis-server - to use this module, a running and configured redis server is needed which stores and manages the cached data.

Permissions - this module requires write permissions on your cache/class_index.php file
and the override directory (recursively).

Installation

Step1: Install and enable php-redis extension

Step2: Install and configure a redis server.

Step3: Go to Modules and Services > Add New Module > Choose file > search for the rediscache.zip file > Upload this module

Step4: Enable rediscache module

Step5: Configure the module. Provide the server host / port for the connection to the Redis server. On a successful configuration you should see a confirmation message that the connection works.

Step6: Go to Advanced Parameters > Performance (Caching system option group). Enable caching and choose Redis Cache as caching system.
