Prestashop AMP module is compatible with framework version 8.x.x and multi-store feature of PrestaShop.

Decrease Loading Speed

The AMP pages use the Google AMP cache server so AMPs load faster than any other HTML pages available on the web. These pages are also optimised to have decreased page size & compatibility according to mobile devices.

Reduce Bounce Rate
It has been observed that pages taking more than 3 seconds to load has a higher bounce rate. Because of AMP, the scenario is changing now. Better compatibility with faster loading helps in reducing the bounce rate efficiently.

Improved user experience
Convenient & fast browsing attracts a customer to open the website repeatedly. On top of that, if a website opens faster even on mobile, it's like a cherry on the cake.

Q: Which payment methods are compatible in AMP (Available for payment in checkout)?
A: We have provided compatibility with Cheque payment and bank wire because these 2 payments are only enabled by default PrestaShop. All other payment methods can be implemented only after checking feasibility.

Q: Can I change the design of AMP pages?
A: Yes, the AMP pages are provided with 3 default themes. You can also change the colour, background colour and fonts for each theme as well.

Q: Can I customise AMP menu different than main website top menu?
A: Yes, you can choose to create AMP menu from ps_mainmenu module, PrestaShop category tree or you can also create custom menu tree in module configuration.

Q: I have a multi-store PrestaShop, how the AMP page URLs are managed in this case?
A: AMP module is multi-store compatible, means all AMP page URLs will be shop specific. In other words, AMP page base URLs will be selected from corresponding Shop base URL.

Q: Can I change default text of cookie consent popup on AMP pages?
A. Yes, you can fully customise the cookie consent message, background colour, text colour etc in module configuration.

Q: AMP pages are not fully validated on PageSpeed Insights results?
A: Please use AMP validator to validate the AMP pages: https://search.google.com/test/amp. The AMP pages have a different HTML format than regular webpages and these are served from Google's AMP Cache, so the Pagespeed Insights results are not accurate for the AMP pages.

Q: Version Compatibility
A: Our Prestashop AMP module version:
  • 3.0.x is compatible to Prestashop version 1.6.x.x
  • 6.0.x is compatible to Prestashop version 1.7.x.x

Q: AMP for which pages will be created?
A: AMP pages will be created for all Home page, Category Page, Product Page, Cart Page, Checkout Page, and CMS Page. 

Q: Will AMP pages created, adapt our theme?
A: AMP pages are created separately and will not adapt to third party themes. The AMP pages are for the purpose of Google AMP cache so these are served separately. Displayed AMP pages will only support standard PrestaShop features, no third party module will be supported. 

Q: Can we directly purchase from the AMP page?
A: Yes, Whole checkout process has been implemented in versions 3.0.x and 6.0.x. You can add a product to cart, select delivery address, shipping method, and payment method and complete the purchase at AMP end.

Q: How can we check AMP pages?
A: AMP for Home page, Category Page Product Page, Cart Page, Checkout Page, and CMS Page can be viewed directly from the module configuration in back office under General settings. Admin can also select a particular category or product to view its AMP page from there.

Q: Can I disable AMP pages?
A: Yes, admin can enable/disable the AMP pages for Home, Category, Product, Cart, Checkout, and CMS Pages. Please note disabling any of the above will disable all the AMP pages related to that. You cannot disable a particular page individually.

Q: Can I add social media sharing options on my AMP product page?
A: You can choose from a list of social media sharing options to display on your AMP product page, from the social media settings in configuration.

Q: How can I manage display of products on the AMP Home page?
A: Admin can manage the display of products on the AMP home page. Admin can enable/disable the display of new arrivals, best products and featured products on the home AMP page and configure their positions as well.

Q: Which modules will be supported by AMP?
A: Displayed AMP page will only support standard prestashop features, no third party modules will be supported.

Q: If admin changes AMP theme design, what happens to selected product and category page designs?
A: All category and product page designs follow the fonts and color settings of the selected theme, so when admin change the AMP theme, the selected template design will show in selected theme style.

Q: The sorting options in AMP category pages are different from main category pages in website?
A: The main website may use third party modules to display sorting options whereas the AMP category pages display the default sorting options only. The AMP category pages show the default sort options which cover most of the sorting behaviours like by name, price, relevance etc.

Q: The AMP header logo height/width are ignored if exceeds the available space in header, why?
A: The Header logo follows the height/width setting if the setting is less than the available space otherwise the logo considers this setting as aspect ratio and display accordingly.
