Diversify your payment options: credit card, an essential option for developing your business
The contract
In order to process online payments, you will need an independent account with a payment processing solution. The cost of creating such an account will depend on a variety of things such as country volume, etc… and one can expect to incur initial service charges (approx. $300), monthly subscription fees ($15- $50), as well as commission of future payments plus a percentage of every transaction processed.
Select your E-commerce Payment Solution
There are a number of payment solutions available, but the easiest option would be to choose the payment gateway associated with your bank. If for some reason you desire an alternative payment solution, you can select one from our addon's page under the "Payments & Gateways" tab.
Choose the Right Module
Your chosen payment processing solution will be installed as a module to your PrestaShop store. After the selected module has been configured and an account has been created, you will be able to start accepting secure online payments from customers all over the world.
Now, when choosing a payment solution, make sure to select one that works for both you and your customers. There are several payment processing options available to PrestaShop users.
Module Features
When all steps are completed, you will just have to link your store to the online payment system. Here, the modules become important.
Please note that our payment modules are only gateways between your shop and the payment service you have opted for. Purchasing the module does not dispense you from subscribing to a payment service; both these services are complementary.
3D Secure
3D Secure is an independent group, often associated with your Distance Selling contract, which performs additional checks on transactions by asking for the credit card user's personal information.
This step makes no impact on the choice of module. Please contact your bank advisor for more information.
Payment in installments
If you wish, you can negotiate with your bank to allow payment in installments without charging your shop. Aside from receiving permission from your bank advisor, you need to also ensure that this payment method is compatible with the module. Please note that this feature is sometimes offered in a separate module. If this is the case, you will need to buy two modules if you want to use both methods of payment.
Installation Prerequisites
Some modules require libraries or special permissions from your web hosting provider. These prerequisites are indicated on each product page, but it's up to you to double-check their compatibility with your web hosting provider before purchasing them.
