Virtual combinations enabler for Prestashop enables the creation of combinations for virtual products and allows you to upload an attachment (file) for each combination separately.

Are you a software vendor, who wants to sell multiple versions of your virtual product, each with it's own dedicated download, and using the same product sales page? Using Prestashop, this raises some questions and issues, since combinations are disabled for virtual products.

Here are some examples of use:

What happens if the product is listed as a separate download for Windows, Linux or OSX?
What happens if the product has a separate version for a 32-bit and 64-bit system?
What if the product comes as a separate version and download for Prestashop 1.7 and 1.6?

Would you create a separate sales page for a red and blue phone case? No! So don't do that with virtual products either!

You can get round this by using our module!

Virtual combinations enabler for Prestashop helps in all above examples and cases, maybe even more, through two very important options:

enables the possibility of combinations for virtual products
allows file upload field for each combination separately

First of all, customers won't get confused by more similar salespages, as now you can centralize the options, offer combinations for virtual products, and secondly, they can download only the version they directly purchased from their account.

Installazione

To install the Virtual product combination enabler module, please follow these steps:

Go to the Modules tab.

Click the text which says, "Add a new module”

Drag and drop the ZIP which you downloaded from Prestashop Addons. It should be called "pfvirtualcombinations.zip".

Module is automatically installed and you should see the "Virtual product combination enabler" in the list of modules.

That's it, no configuration is needed at all!

Module has two major features

1) Allow combinations for virtual products

Currently in Prestashop if you activate the virtual product option, the combination option will disappear. In addition, if you’re kinda succeed to show and create combinations, at next product edit, Prestashop will notify you that your product is virtual, it can’t have combinations and will delete them, completely eliminating this option.

The module re-activates the ability to create combinations and keeps them for editing, just like in normal products case.

2) Multiple file uploads - one for each combo

The second big limitation associated with virtual products is the possibility of only one attachment (file upload). This will also be retained, if you can somehow hack/edit Prestashop and activate combinations, even keeping them re-editable.

Virtual combinations enabler for Prestashop comes in handy again: it allows you to upload a separate attachment for each combination, so the customer will actually download what he has bought.
