At times you may encounter the problem when some PrestaShop images are broken or missing and have question marks instead of actual product pictures with captions saying that image is not available.
Over time Prestashop fills up with unused, broken images witch takes a lot of place in the server and slowdowns the store. Such unwanted files occupy space and are a great reason behind increased page load time. Most of the time it happens because of server errors, unsuccessful product deletion, interrupted image regeneration process, CSV, or XML files imports.
